Appliances for $3? A 40-inch HDTV for $298?

Yes, it's a Black Friday sale. Eager online sales watchdogs have spotted these and other deals that will appear in Target's upcoming ads for Black Friday, the traditional sale-filled day that marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season, held the day after Thanksgiving.

Some of the pricing is aggressive.

Last weekend, Amazon and Best Buy were offering an early Black Friday sale on 32-inch HDTVs for $259. (Manufacturer's suggested retail price: $449.)

The new Target ad offers a 40-inch Westinghouse HDTV – with higher resolution – for only $39 more. Bfads, a Black Friday sale watchdog, called in one of the hotter sales items it had seen in the ad.

As it did last year, Target is offering a 46-inch Apex HDTV for $449, a free $10 Target card for shoppers who spend at least $100 that day, and a number of small appliances for $3. For example: a Chefmate 2-Slice sandwich-maker will sell for $3. So will a Chefmate 5-speed hand mixer.

Some prices are better this year than last. In 2009, Target sold a TomTom GPS system for $97. This Black Friday, a TomTom will only set you back $79. (Suggested retail price: $189.)
