Susan Boyle will tell her story

British singing sensation Susan Boyle has signed a book deal to write her autobiography.

Susan Boyle's 2009 album "I Dreamed a Dream" has now sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. British publisher Transworld is hoping that Boyle's life story as a reality star-turned international star will energize fans as well.

Boyle has signed a deal with Transworld to write an autobiography to be titled "The Woman I Was Born to Be." The book will be released in Britain in the fall, but it is not yet known when it will arrive in American bookstores.

Can Boyle's book possibly rival other great music biographies (including those of Led Zeppelin, Mötley Crüe, Johnny Cash, and The Who), asks MTV?

The New York Times put a more literary spin on the question. "Her exterior masked a singing voice that took the Internet and the music industry by storm," points out Dave Itzkoff. So is it not possible that Susan Boyle is "concealing a prose style to rival Jane Austen's or Virginia Woolf's?"
