I drift close to shore watching

turtles frogs raccoons fox deer flowers

looking at the shallows and behind

weeds two eyes ears nose quickly I

am past and new weeds obscure the view.

I stand close to shore watching

leaves twigs foam logs boats

looking at the water as it moves

drifting silver water quickly it

is gone I strain to see what has passed.
