When leaves fly
November 6, 2000
on wind shear
opening November
some find feet
in tall grass
and lean against
the fence to watch,
still life
till snowfall.
A few entertain
the curb and dare
to skate between
the traffic backward,
cameos in slow motion
who reappear again
dancing in my head
into April.
