WHAT: The Children with Disabilities Web site is a directory of resources related to developmental, physical, and emotional disabilities.

BEST POINTS: A thorough set of links is organized by categories including national, federal, and state/local resources; research and statistics; grants and funding; calendar of events; and youth to youth (links that are designed for kids or enable them to connect with one another).

Families can find information about advocacy, education, transportation, and technical assistance, recreation, summer camps, useful books, and parent-support networks. The site also lists publications aimed at both parents and children. You'll find links to schools for exceptional children, the "Deaf World Web," the National Theater Workshop of the Handicapped, and legal and financial resources.

The directories are comprehensive and address a wide range of learning disabilities and physical challenges.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The guide is an initiative of the Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention - a collaboration of nine federal agencies.
