The following are some of Mexico's most influential women, according to an article in yesterday's edition of Reforma newspaper's weekly magazine. Maricarmen Ramiacuterez Garcia was included in the ranking.

Alejandra Barrios, leader of Mexico City street vendors

Julia Carabias, secretary of the environment, natural resources, and fishing

Amalia Garca, president of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD)

Elba Esther Gordillo, former leader of the largest union in Latin America

Rosario Green, secretary of foreign relations

Rosario Ibarra de Piedra, two-time presidential candidate and human rights activist

Rosario Robles, mayor of Mexico City

Dulce Mara Sauri, current president of the PRI
