If you're hankering for a clambake, but don't live near the ocean, never fear. Here are some simple instructions for baking your own bivalves.

Dig a hole large enough for the number of clams you're baking, and line the pit with rocks. After burning a charcoal or wood fire in the pit and letting the coals heat the rocks, remove coals and alternate layers of seaweed and clams, ending with seaweed.
