The Smell of Basil

October 20, 1997

The smell of basil fills the car.

Stuck in this traffic, here we are,

cars jammed, moving helter-skelter.

In this heat we start to swelter.

People tense up, drivers wilt.

This road is really narrow built.

We are sedate, the killer-diller

smell of basil is a thriller.

Brakes are whining, brake lights flash.

No one can rev and make a dash.

But our car's filled with razzle-dazzle,

because we've got a gift of basil.
