Taking a Walk With Two Dogs And a Small Pig

April 16, 1997

The pig has not quite decided

he is one, as he tussles with

the younger dog. They mouth each other,

not quite crunching down. They sniff

things in the mud, side by side,

though the pig grunts and roots

while the dog just tests the air.

Oh, he's a pig all right. He doesn't like

to be touched. He squeals and runs off

while the dogs snuggle up for more.

But he doesn't like to be left behind,

either. See? Here he comes,

ears flapping, his hooves flashing

rapidly on their stubby legs.

Look! He's wagging his ropy tail.
