Two Crows

June 20, 1996

come to our yard

each day. They stroll

around just like there's

nobody home, but we are. And

they always walk in step,

like they've been in

the Army ... or married a

long time. They don't

cross the street much, but

when they do they do it

together, like when one seems

scared and flies away, without

any big to-do about it the other

does, too. We throw them seeds

now and then, but as they

walk around the yard they never

peck at the ground like they're

feeding, or anything. Heck,

they don't even look down.

What we figure is that those

two crows, they must think

they're our sentries,

or something.
