Winter's Slow Dance

December 2, 1994

While the winter is delayed,

may I have this dance?

The moon weighs huge and yellow,

making space for what it knows.

Autumn's song may be replayed,

but let's not take that chance.

With the summer warmth on loan

just think what grace our turns will own.

We'll trace the rhythms last year froze -

if you will dance before it snows.
