Thunder Paste

An `exotic blend that's superb on chicken and shrimp.'

1 small onion, chunked

1/3 cup orange juice

2 tablespoons peanut oil

2 teaspoons ground anise seeds

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Combine ingredients in food processor or blender; process until onion is finely chopped and a thick puree forms. Massage paste into food, then refrigerate in plastic bag ``to soak.'' Refrigerate the paste, covered, for up to 2 weeks. Makes about 1 cup.
