SATURDAY

Tournament of Champions Tennis (ABC, 2:30-4:30 p.m.): Semi-final match, live from the West Side Tennis Club, New York. Boris Becker and Yannick Noah are among the tournament players.

SUNDAY

Tournament of Champions Tennis (ABC, 3-6 p.m.): Final match.

Nature (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): In ``Lords of Hokkaido,'' a family of red foxes are the stars in a portrait of Japan's northernmost island.

The Other Side of the Border (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): This documentary on Mexican immigration focuses on the immigrants themselves and the pressures they face. [Previewed Page 38].

MONDAY

A Gathering of Old Men (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): A group of aged rural black people rally to the defense of a friend threatened by vigilante action in this dramatic special. From the novel by Ernest J. Gaines.

American Playhouse (PBS, 9-11 p.m.): ``Charley's Aunt'' - the classic broad comedy, written in 1890, deals with two Yale students who persuade a fellow student to masquerade as an aunt from Brazil.

TUESDAY

The Dumb Waiter (ABC, 10-11 p.m.): John Travolta and Tom Conti star in this adaptation of the Harold Pinter one-act play about two hitmen who find a mysterious presence in a presumably deserted house.

The Presidency and the Constitution (PBS 10-11 p.m.): ``Foreign Alliances and Misalliances (Part I)'' - a distinguished panel grapples with hypothetical problems facing the modern presidency in wartime.

WEDNESDAY

Smithsonian World (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): ``The Elephant on the Hill'' explores the relationship between artists and scientists, the gulf that's developed between them, and modern efforts to bridge it.

THURSDAY

Moyers: In Search of the Constitution (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): ``Ronald Dworkin: the Changing Story.'' Dworkin is an American who holds the prestigious Chair of Jurisprudence at Oxford University and is also professor of law at New York University. He discusses the place of the US Constitution in history.
