Animals are our friends: poems and sketches by children; In Harmony with Nature

April 30, 1984

Flowers sway in the glistening moonlight. Crickets chirp noisily. Lakes ripple lacy waves While fish hungrily feed And the forest fills with life.

Dawn arrives. Machines plow through the dense

woodland. Man comes, Sending terror through the animals. Chain saws roar deafeningly,

Slicing down tree after tree.

Bulldozers upturn roots and animal

homes As wild creatures leap breathlessly Out of man's path. An inspiring dream fills my heart! Humans saving and sharing nature, Exploring abundant pine forests, Venturing to unknown, untouched lakes. Wild animals roaming wooded glades, Flowers blooming, Giving the air a sweet fragrance. Man and nature, living in harmony Forever.
