Car of the Future

(PBS, April 22, 8 p.m.): Tired of paying more than $3 a gallon for your fossil fuel? Take a peek at what scientists hope is the near future for the personal transportation vehicle. In this bubbly, continent-hopping tour hosted by the sibling cohosts of NPR's auto show, "Car Talk," Tom and Ray Magliozzi set out to replace Tom's beloved 1952 MG roadster with something more politically correct. Narrated by actor John Lithgow, the show takes us through the Detroit auto show, where the duo gawk at 500-hp. machines, to Reykjavik, Iceland, where the boys ride buses powered by hydrogen fuel-cell technology.
