Territorial Preserve

Grackles are sounding worried –
There must be something
In the distance
Though not too far away –
Even a haughty blue jay has descended
To the top bar of the nearest fence
Two plump robins rally in orange and brown
All squawking and chirping
Together
To scare away
The neighbor's furry
Big
White
Cat.
