Thaw-song

A poem.

March 16, 2010

Thaw-song
Rain draws circles in glossy water,
whole notes of music
announcing spring
to frozen banks and brown fields.

Water bursts ice-prisons,
singing as it sweeps
the last heaps of snow
from woodlot and street.

Muddy rivulets strive
to recall their green songs,
while the sun sings along,
a melting tune.
