Backyard Voyage
Hoisted sails at blazing noon,
you launch single file
bellying out into open space
staying the course with the wind,
running the hours undaunted
by dusk turning to dark
until the sun breaks through,
three sheets on a line, harbored,
ready to be hauled down. Elizabeth Mata
