Keep those veggies coming

July 14, 2008

Each time you finish harvesting a crop of vegetables -- whether peas, cucumbers, or cabbages -- plant something else in that spot. Dump the old plants on the compost pile, dig up the soil, add some amendments and a little fertilizer, and sow seeds. This allows you to get more vegetables from the space you have, proving that you don't need a huge garden to feed a family.
