Help those tomato blossoms

June 6, 2008

There are two main reasons tomato blossoms fall off without setting fruit -- they weren't pollinated and temperatures are above 90 degrees F. When bees haven't found your tomato plants early in the season, pollinate tomato blossoms yourself. Do this by gently tapping the open blossom with your index finger. For maximum effectiveness, do it three days in a row.
