Good books in bad times

January 8, 2009

Thrown for a loop by charges that "Conversations with God" author Neale Donald Walsche plagiarized an inspirational blog? Left wondering who you can trust for uplifting reading? Try goodbooksinbadtimes.com.

This is a new blog launched by HarperOne, publishers specializing in religion, spirituality, and personal growth books. HarperOne is calling the new blog "a resource for books that provide comfort and serve as a force for good in difficult times."

Books recently featured include "Animal Blessings" by June Cotner, "Forgive for Good" by Fred Luskin, and "The Green Collar Economy" by Van Jones (also profiled in this week's New Yorker.)

So if you're looking for a site that will remind you to slow down, count your blessings, forgive everyone (even the Madoffs of the world), this is an address to bookmark.
