There Is Power in a Union: The Epic Story of Labor in America, by Philip Dray, is quite humbling to read. It’s about workers in the early 1900s fighting for workplace rights taken so much for granted today, such as the eight-hour day, bathroom breaks, and unlocked exit doors. This book is even more apposite in light of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement.
