Young Mr. Obama by Edward McClelland is about Obama's years as a community organizer in Chicago and his road to becoming a US senator from Illinois. It is very worthwhile and covers areas other books do not.There's also "Reading Obama" by James T. Kloppenberg which is more technical but also interesting.
