Panzer Commander: The Memoirs of Colonel Hans Von Luck by Hans von Luck is a fascinating look at the horrors of World War II from the German viewpoint. Von Luck, a good soldier, was very close with Rommel and very concerned about the effect of the war on innocent civilians. He had ever increasing misgivings as the Nazis continued to tighten their grip.
