I'm re-reading Doris Haddock's Granny D: Walking Across America in My 90th Year. Although published nine years ago, "Granny D" is so timely, considering the U.S. Supreme Court's decision overturning campaign finances laws. Her walk was made to publicize the need for those laws and inspired the McCain-Feingold Act, which was overturned.
