In The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife’s Memoir, Patricia Harman interweaves accounts of patients in the practice she shares with her gynecologist husband with her own personal struggles as a former hippie, a wife, and mother of three grown sons. Her maternal honesty shines through and makes this one of my favorite books.
