Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie follows an extended family in Biafra during the 1960s, including the Biafran war of 1967-1970. It is a beautifully written book, and the reader quickly becomes in involved in the lives of the different-looking twin sisters and their mates.
