Banquet of color

Poem

October 5, 2007

Banquet of color Oak leaves sprinkle cinnamon among the cranberry and sweet potato maples; while lemoned elm leaves stir above a smorgasbord of sycamores. A pinch of spicebush to season, slow-cooking in the flame of bittersweet berries and firethorn, Queen Anne's lace decorates the table for a joe-pye and butterfly centerpiece bouquet. Come and savor the autumn hills' buffet.
