I thrill to quiet things

September 5, 2003

I thrill to quiet things -
a sun that dapples on the snow -
a candle glow.
The pinkness on a baby's face,
the silence during table grace.
The way the bougainvillea falls
silently upon the walls.
The click I hear within the door
when you are coming home once more.
The graceful tulips in the beds,
gently swaying yellow heads.
I thrill to quiet things -
and all the peace the meaning brings.
