What was the name of Paul Revere's horse? Answer: He didn't own one. Revere borrowed a borrowed horse for his famous ride from Boston to Lexington, Mass., on the night of April 18-19, 1775. (Revere did own a horse earlier in the 1770s, however.) Revere's mount was Brown Beauty, a fast, strong mare provided by his friend Deacon John Larkin, who had borrowed it from his father. Revere and Brown Beauty were stopped by British regulars in Lexington shortly after midnight. Revere was later released. Brown Beauty was not. Deacon Larkin never saw his father's horse again.
