Never buy another luggage tag

November 28, 2000

The handiest travel gadget I've discovered in some time is 3M's self-laminating bag tags. The $5 kit lets you make five tags in seconds.

Place two business cards back to back so the information on each faces outward, place them carefully on one of the ultra-clear heavy plastic sheets. Remove the backing, attach the included strap, and, presto, you have a personalized tag, ready to identify your luggage.

Since I discovered this neat product, I now carry an extra tag with me for those times that one of the old-fashioned kind disappears enroute.

Look for the 3M bag tags at office-supply stores, groceries, and drugstores.
