A story on the US Senate race in the State of Washington (Nov. 13, page 3) contained an error in its recounting of a 1974 Senate campaign in New Hampshire. Norris Cotton was the interim senator who served while the race between Louis Wyman and John Durkin was being contested.

A story on states cracking down on Internet tobacco sales (Nov. 8, page 2) misattributed a statement. It was the spokeswoman for Rhode Island Lt. Gov. Charles Fogarty who said, "It could have been my child. There should have been a restricted delivery system."

The photo caption accompanying a story on President Clinton as a campaigner (Nov. 2, page 2) incorrectly identified the location of the Alfred Street Baptist Church. It is in Alexandria, Va.
