A running start for a fashion trend?

Well, maybe. US Olympic track star Mark Everett sported this e7xotic eyewear at practice last week in Sydney, Australia. It's yet another case of "product placement," we figured, intended to give a new line of sports sunglasses some exposure.

A little sleuthing confirmed it: Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based Oakley takes credit for the offbeat new shades. The style is called "Over the Top." When they are made available to consumers in November, they'll cost $180 - and will probably work best with the hair style favored by Mr. Everett, in our opinion.
