A birthday fit for a queen mother

May 17, 2000

In just one of many tributes in England set for the 100th birthday celebration of Queen Elizabeth, the queen mother, six bells will be installed at York Minster. Above, the Dean of York, the Rev. Dr. Raymond Furnell, inspects the new bells before a short commemorative service. A party on June 21 will honor milestone birthdays of other royalty as well.
