Atomic time on your computer

If you would like to set your watch by atomic time, you're only a few mouse clicks away from the ultimate source. The US Naval Observatory in Washington and the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder have joined in maintaining an up-to-the second Web site displaying local time anywhere in the United States. Just point your browser to www.time.gov. Each of these US Government agencies maintains an atomic clock that contributes to the international network that defines Coordinated Universal Time - the official world time. The new Web site converts that time to your local time and displays it continuously. Because of Internet delays, the display is accurate only to a little less than a second. A check for Eastern Daylight Time showed an accuracy of 0.6 seconds.
