Kids can write to athletes and leaders

October 6, 1999

It's no big deal to write to pop stars like Britney Spears.

The tough part is getting a mailing address. A helpful source is "The Kid's Address Book" by Michael Levine (Perigee Reference, $10.95), which lists the addresses of more than 3,000 famous people - from actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Melissa Joan Hart to golfer Tiger Woods and Microsoft chairman Bill Gates.

Addresses are included for world leaders such as Russian President Boris Yeltsin and Chinese President Jiang Zemin. Some casual letters from kids have brought invitations to visit from celebrities such as pitcher Pedro Martinez and US President Bill Clinton.
