Share Y2K food stocks with homeless

Teenage reader Matt Werner e-mailed us with a suggestion. Many people are planning to stock up on canned goods and other supplies in case of disruptions in electricity or food supplies in early January. If these items aren't used, he recommends giving them to a homeless shelter.
