Original vs. digital

Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa' is shown (far left) as it currently appears at the Louvre in Paris, while to the right, a computerized version shows what it would look like stripped of layers of yellow varnish. More and more, computers are being used by art historians and conservators to restore and catalog art. Digital images also help reproduce famous works of art.
