Teens aid Kosovars

May 26, 1999

Sociologists often wring their hands and point to signs of apathy among today's teenagers. One place where this assumption doesn't wash is the Web site: www.e-teen.net/kosovo

The fledgling E-teen site (featured in a Sept. 2, 1998 Homefront article) is completely run by teens. Their latest endeavor is the Kosovo Relief Project, which offers an online way to raise money for refugees. But E-teen doesn't stop there. It also gives a history of the conflict and answers questions such as "What is ethnic cleansing," in simple terms. Young people directly affected by the war also contribute their stories.

E-teen is a project of Legacy International, which works with children in war zones.
