CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER - (PG-13, Paramount Home Video). A narration of a fictional war against a Colombian drug cartel, this film has clumsy similarities to the Iran-contra scandal. Harrison Ford stars as Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst who suddenly finds himself promoted to deputy director of intelligence and entangled in illegal operations near the equator. The film entertains with plenty of action and suspense, but it shies away from grappling with the hefty issues raised about government operations. (Aug. 4, 1994)
