POP/ROCK. Kirsty MacColl - Galore (I.R.S.): British singer-songwriter

MacColl has been largely unknown to American audiences, despite several acclaimed albums and the hit single that Tracey Ullmann had with MacColl's song "They Don't Know." This collection might rectify that, proving that MacColl is both a distinctive vocalist and a versatile songwriter with a gift for witty lyrics and pop hooks. She also does covers by Billy Bragg, Ray Davies, The Smiths, and Cole Porter. One of the tracks is a charming duet with Evan Dando on Lou Reed's "Perfect Day."
