Two articles - ``Logging, Wildlife Clash in Remote Alaska Forest'' (Jan. 6) and ``Alaskan Town Mulls a Future Minus a Mill'' (Jan. 9) - contained errors, due to editing. The US Forest Service in 1940 envisioned opening up 6 million acres of the softwood forest to logging. It didn't actually open up anywhere near that. Also, Dave Person is a University of Alaska researcher doing studies for the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
