Decision Time For Tauzin

REP. Billy Tauzin (D) of Louisiana said Sunday he is unhappy with the way the Democratic Party has treated him and will announce today whether he will turn Republican.

``I'm either going to have the full rights of membership or I'm going to realign,'' Mr. Tauzin says. He says he has been forced to ask the GOP for time on the House floor because the Democratic leadership does not like his conservative views.

Tauzin recently benefitted when the Democratic Party decided it would not keep a scorecard of how often a person votes along party lines.
