Shoppers praise mail-ordering

September 29, 1994

ARE you satisfied with ordering clothing through the mail? A survey published in the October issue of Consumer Reports found that three-quarters of the magazine's readers were satisfied with the experience.

Among the issues readers considered: quality and fit of clothes; price; speedy delivery; whether the merchandise was in stock; and whether problems with the order were resolved successfully. Consumers ranked L. L. Bean and Patagonia highest for overall satisfaction; Fingerhut left many readers underwhelmed.
