NYC: WORLD'S ADVERTISING CAPITAL - AGAIN

* In 1992, New York City reclaimed the title of the advertising capital of the world with $25.8 billion in billings, according to Advertising Age magazine.

Billings at the city's 147 ad agencies grew fast enough to erase Tokyo's $120 million advantage over New York in 1991. The top 500 United States agencies saw their gross incomes rise 6.8 percent.

Despite income growth, employment at US multinational ad firms dropped 1.6 percent.
