US CORPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS TO OVERSEAS CHARITIES

March 9, 1993

* United States corporate contributions to worthy causes in foreign countries have increased by more than 500 percent in the last decade, according to a survey of 200 Fortune 1000 companies by the Conference Board.

The survey found that in 1989 and 1990, median global corporate contributions jumped 63 percent and 52 percent respectively. The surge did not continue into 1991, when median contributions showed little change over 1990.
