CAMBODIAN TROOPS SEIZE UN AMMUNITION

* Government soldiers in northwest Cambodia have begun resupplying front-line units from ammunition stocks previously handed over to the United Nations under a disarmament program, witnesses said Saturday.
Government soldiers have been loading trucks with ammunition in expectation of a counter-attack by Khmer Rouge rebels in nearby Talo district.
On Feb. 1, the UN Transitional Authority in Cambodia accused the Army of mounting a coordinated attack against the Khmer Rouge.
The ammunition had previously been handed over to the UN as part of the second phase of the UN-brokered peace agreement, calling for disarmament and demobilization of rival armies. The process has collapsed because the Khmer Rouge refuses to comply.
