ELVIS'S FIRST RECORDING UP FOR SALE

August 20, 1992

Elvis Presley's first recording will be auctioned on Sept. 26 in Santa Monica, Calif., according to Mitchell Kruse, president and auctioneer for Kruse International, who will conduct the event.

The two songs on the recording - "My Happiness" and "That's When Your Heartaches Begin." - were recorded on Aug. 21, 1953 at Sun Studio's Memphis Recording Service for a $4 fee. The record was given to a high-school friend.

Mr. Kruse says the first Elvis dub will set a new record for the highest-priced piece of rock-and-roll memorabilia ever acutioned.
