Children in the United States chew some 15 million pieces of bubble gum each day - about 150,000 pounds - according to Zillions Consumer Reports for Kids.In a taste test, 34 students in junior high school rated four brands of regular bubble gum and four sugarless brands in three test categories: taste, texture, and "bubble-ability." Two brands of regular bubble gum, Hubba Bubba and Bubble Yum, topped all three categories. For sugarless gums, Extra and Bubble Yum Sugarless were the high scorers. Bazooka Original had the longest-lasting flavor.
