The shuttle Discovery's five-man crew safely launched a $633 million environmental research satellite early Sunday after delays due to persistent problems in relaying commands to the spacecraft.The Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite will study in unprecendented detail the impact of pollution on Earth's atmosphere and the depletion of the protective ozone layer.
